January 2026 Update - China Visit

Hi All,
A quick shout out firstly to one of the backers who reminded me I'd forgotten to do the Kickstater update! It's amazing how simple it sounds on paper to do these things, but so easy to overlook.
Anyway, the China update is as follows:
I had the factory visit on the 20th to review the t0 (the first unit off the production line), and although my initial thoughts was that of slight disappointment, as it didn't look like the finished article, I have been reassured by the factory, and my product designer (centreline.co.uk) that t0's are almost like a placeholder.
i.e. to make sure everything looks broadly correct, and that it works broadly as expected, which it does.
So from that persepctive that's positive, however I'm now waiting for the t1 (the upgraded version from t0) to be shipped to me in 7 days time (arriving early Feb), which will determine if we will ship your orders to you before Chinese New Year.

Anyway, I will provide a definitive answer regarding shipping in early February.

I hope this email finds you well, and that the start to your 2026 has been a good one!
The monthly update is as follows...
Manufacturing and Delivery
After a few false starts and delays, the very first unit has FINALLY rolled off the production line.
T0 (this first unit) is now being refined in order to make perfect, and we will inspect these on site in China on January 20th, which will determine how much - if any - more refinement is needed, and when we might expect to deliver your orders to you.
With that said, we're tentatively aiming for a pre-Chinese New Year shipping date (so early January), however in line with said false starts and delays, I should stress that this is tentative, even though the signs are good (meaning that the review of T0 was far better than expected i.e. there were no major flaws noted).
So in view of that, I will send another update on January 20th to confirm all the above.
In the meantime, and as always, a HUGE THANK YOU from us for bearing with us during the process; it's been a long, expensive and painful one, so I can't say enough how much it means that you backed us in the first place.

⚡️ December Update - Unexpected Delay (Short, Hopefully)⚡️

Hi All - I hope this email finds you well, the monthly update is as follows!
Manufacturing
We were supposed to get the first unit off the production line last week, with a view to getting all Kickstarter orders (i.e. yours) out by the end of the year, but we were told at the very last minute of a 2-3 week delay, as - we think - the manufacturer didn't get one of the plastic molds completed in time.
So not a huge delay, but still very frustrating as it felt like we were finally on a roll after a difficult year with delayed resdesigned prototypes, made more frustrating because our UK based design team (centreline.co.uk) was at the factory in China 3 weeks ago.
Maybe it's a cultural thing that they didn't want to say anything (maybe we got de-prioritised by a larger customer, or maybe it was just an oversight), but whatever it is we just have to roll with it, with the first unit now due w/c December 14th.
Delivery
So what that means for delivery is we're now aiming to ship early in the New Year. Not ideal, so a personal apology from me for the delay all the same.

⚡️ November Update - Manufacturing Continues⚡️

Hi All - I hope this email finds you well, the monthly update is as follows!
Manufacturing
The finishing touches are being put onto the plastic moulds, and we're about 3 weeks away from the first unit rolling off the production line.
My design team (centreline.co.uk) is out there as we speak making sure everything is as it should be, and instead of me flying out to China this month, we've rescheduled for when we ramp up mass production, likely to be in January.
Regarding the timing of the delivery of your orders, we are on track to ship in December, but we need to confirm our logistics first - originally we had planned to drop ship individual orders straight from China but it may be cheaper to send palettes to distribution sites globally and ship from these instead, which would take a little bit longer.
I will make a decision on this asap and update you next month - in the meantime, thank you so much for your patience as it is hugely appreciated.
Golf Towels
I've recieved 2 of 3 samples, and the one on the top row is the best of them:
Heads up that the towel is actually two towels stitched together - one for the mud, one for the water - which means less washing, as the muddy towel is hidden and the clean one is at the front .. it's a small "system", but it's a good one.

⚡️ October Update - Smooth Sailing So Far ⚡️

Hi All - I hope this email finds you well, the monthly update is as follows!
Manufacturing
We received the inital tooling reports early last week, and the design team have gone through them with a fine tooth comb - so far so good, and no issues to report.
To ensure things carry on their smooth trajectory, it looks like I will fly to China at the end of the month to do my first factory visit, at the behest of my new business partner, which I'm looking forward to if it happens (need to confirm with our design team first that we're good to go).
I hate jet lag is the only issue (Shenzen is 7 hours ahead), but it will be a short trip i.e. get in, get out and hope for the best!
Golf Towels
In other news, I've narrowed down the list of potential towel suppliers, with samples to be sent next week once they're back from holiday. We've got a pretty cool design lined up - nothing quite like it exists on the market - and, just like the K1 golf club cleaner, quality and performance is the name of the game.
